Ford News - The Ford Ranger is Back

A Familiar Face

This past weekend at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, many Ford fans saw the unveiling of a new, familiar face. The 2019 Ford Ranger has shades of its full-sized companion with aspects that are true to its own legacy. For seven years, mid-size truck fans have been waiting and wishing for a new Ford Ranger. A year from now, they can hop back into the drivers seat of one.

No Strangers to the Ranger

Since production of the Ford Ranger stopped in 2011, mid-sized truck fans have wondered if there would ever be a return. Ford focused heavily on the production of the F-150, coming out with new special editions and design updates. But, that still didn't stop Ranger fans from forgetting about their once-favorite Ford model. Given the mix of both demand for mid-sized trucks and suggestions (write-ins, forums, etc.) from consumers in the past few years, Ford finally has an answer.

The 2019 Ford Ranger is as tough as it is sporty. It features rounded fenders and a definitive frame resembling the F-150. However, the aspects of itself that it carries include its stylish headlights and compressed mirrors as well as its sophisticated grille with the letters R-A-N-G-E-R across the top. Although it does pay respect to the full-sized segment, the new Ford Ranger celebrates its own renowned return. Fans have been waiting for this for over half of a decade, and it seems they are pleased with their reward for their patience.

Details Regarding the Ford Ranger

The all-new Ranger will come in a crew cab and a supercrew cab option. Both will feature four full-size doors. It has 9 inches of ground clearance as well as four different drive modes depending on the terrain. There is an FX4 off-road package that includes upgraded tires, off-road ready shocks and suspension, and skid plates for when things get a little bumpy. Needless to say, this mid-size truck is ready for both work and play.

The 2019 Ford Ranger will feature one engine: the second generation 2.3-liter twin-scroll turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost with 10-speed automatic transmission. It will maintain a steel body, a new fully boxed frame, and a stylish aluminum tailgate. The grille will depend on the trim-level (unique to XL, XLT, and Lariat) and there are optional LED lamps for the headlights. This new mid-sized monster will have eight new wheel choices, and some will match the F-150 to further carry on the legacy Ford has built. It will also be offered in eight different colors with optional sport and chrome appearance packages.

Although the 2019 Ford Ranger won't be available for another year, there is sure a lot to look forward to. In the mean time, check out the F-150 and Used Ford inventory here. The Uftring Automall, your Peoria dealer for Ford, is excited to offer the next new generation of Ford Rangers!

Gary Uftring Recognized by Ford Motor Company for Charitable Giving

GARY UFTRING OF UFTRING FORD RECOGNIZED FOR CHARITABLE GIVING AT 2015 FORD SALUTE TO DEALERS EVENT

On January 22nd, 2015, Gary Uftring, of Uftring Ford in East Peoria, Illinois, was one of six dealers worldwide recognized by Ford Motor Company as a 2015 "Salute to Dealers" honoree. Gary accepted the award at a reception preceding the 2015 NADA Convention in San Francisco, California.  Salute To Dealers is a Ford Motor Company initiative that identifies and honors Dealer Principals who are dedicated to giving back to the communities in which they live and work.

Throughout his career, Gary Uftring has always led by example.  Every day, each day we are reminded how many lives Gary Uftring has touched with his generosity and willingness to help others. All of us at the Uftring Automall and in the entire Uftring Auto Group are extremely lucky to have such a compassionate and caring individual leading our organization.
Gary's Uftring's commitment to giving back to Central Illinois has touched countless individuals, organizations and families. The Uftring Ambassador Initiative was created five years ago to better serve Central Illinois communities using the resources and dedication of the Uftring Auto Group team. In addition to the many walks, food drives and charitable donations, recent efforts have included helping countless local residents impacted by the November 2013 Tornado and raising thousands of dollars for The Central Illinois Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired at two successful Get in Gear Race and Tailgate events.

The Salute to Dealers awards were launched in 2001 to demonstrate Ford's commitment to its thousands of dealer owners who step beyond their showroom doors to make a difference.  This year, Edsel B. Ford II and three other judges selected six winners from a total global field of 80 nominees located in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Europe, Asia Pacific, the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America, Africa and the Middle East regions.
A painted portrait of each honoree features a montage of philanthropic and volunteer activities that led to the award. Duplicates of the portraits will join a Salute to Dealers display in the lobby of Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan. Mr. Uftring will be proud to display the portrait at his East Peoria, Illinois Ford dealer, Uftring Ford in the Uftring Automall.
We would like to extend our most sincere congratulations to Gary for such a significant honor and achievement.

Happy 50th Ford Mustang!

Last Thursday, April 17, was the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang! We hosted a celebration of the infamous Ford Motor Company model – it was a day full of Mustangs, both old and new. Beginning with a special cake ceremony at 9:30 a.m., the Uftring Automall showroom was full of incredible Mustang machines. From the newest models to aged Mustangs build decades ago, we had a huge variety of vehicles for our Ford enthusiasts to look at.

The Mustang has been such an important icon to both the Ford Motor Company and the Uftring Auto Group. The very first Mustang was premiered on April 17, 1964 at New York’s World Fair! The one-millionth Ford Mustang model was quickly produced just two years later on February 23, 1966. Over 22,000 Mustangs were sold on the day Ford released the Mustang for sale. That’s an incredible sale number, especially back then!

The mustang has evolved through time and has changed the sports car industry forever. The Mustang is an important part of automotive history and continues to be just as exclusive and popular as it was in years past. The newest Mustangs have revolutionized the sports car model completely, expanding its capabilities and horsepower while pushing the technology and the power of a Mustang to its limits – and beyond. We thank those who came out to help us celebrate 50 years of the Mustang, and we thank those who have purchased Mustangs from Uftring Ford all these years. Which Ford Mustang means the most to you?

The Power of a Subaru

We love the power of a Subaru all-wheel-drive. After watching a viral video this week of a Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid towing a large UPS truck out of a deep snow bank, we weren’t too surprised by the results. The ability of an AWD Subaru is absolutely incredible, and this is a real life example to prove just why we love the Subaru brand so much.

Ezra Dyer puts a Subaru to the test. Do you think the UPS truck can be pulled out without a tow truck? Do you think a Subaru can do the trick? The answer is YES! Watch the video here. If you don’t want to worry about driving in snowy, icy, dangerous weather, a Subaru gives you absolute control and stability. You can afford luxury, you can afford sportiness, and you can afford a durable Subaru that will get you anywhere you need to go, in any condition. Visit us right here at the Uftring Automall in East Peoria to test drive any of our 2014 Subarus. Click here to view our complete Subaru inventory, new or used.
